Little Havana Kiwanis hosts the kickoff party “Mr. Red & Friends Holiday Drive” – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

MIAMI (WSVN) – It was an evening of fun and fundraising for the Kiwanis of Little Havana.

The annual Mr. Red & Friends Holiday Drive kick-off party took place on Saturday evening.

DJ Irie and DJ Laz helped keep the party going throughout the night.

For more than 45 years, the Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation has hosted this meaningful event to support children and families in need in the community.

“Because of the very things they do for the community and with the community, providing scholarships and adopting families towards the end of the year, turkey drives, toy drives and much more. I want to be a part of this to help specifically and specifically in my community of Miami, Florida,” said Alexander Arias, also known as Mr. Red.

“It’s our hometown, we’re all in this together, and together we’re going to make a difference in this community,” said Ernie Portuondo, the event’s co-host. “You Watch will happen in the next few years. We’re going to make a lot of changes in this community, all for the better.”

The annual Christmas drive is made possible through the generous support of sponsors, including BMW, which donated a check for $25,000 to the cause.
