Man (30) arrested after suspected sexual assault of a woman on Luas in Dublin

A man in his 30s has been arrested after the alleged sexual assault of a woman on a Luas in Dublin.

The incident reportedly occurred on a tram between Jervis Street and Heuston Station at around 7.10pm on Sunday last week.

“Gardaí in Kilmainham are investigating the alleged assault on a woman which reportedly occurred on a Luas tram on the evening of Sunday 29 October 2023 and have arrested a man,” a spokesman said.

“The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested in the early hours of today, Wednesday 8 November 2023, and is currently being detained at a Garda station in Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.”

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed an alleged assault to come forward.

“Anyone with information about this matter who can assist gardaí with their inquiries is asked to contact Kilmainham Garda Station on 01-6669700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.”

Gardai added that investigations were ongoing.
