Man shot and critically injured in parked car in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – A man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after he was shot in a parked car in north St. Louis Friday night.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. Friday in the 4600 block of Korte Avenue in the Penrose neighborhood.

According to investigators, two people, a 36-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, were in a parked car when an unknown driver pulled up in a black sedan. A short time later, the driver is said to have shot at the parked vehicle.

The man, a passenger in the car, was shot in the head. The woman in the driver’s seat quickly left the scene of the accident. The suspect also shot at a rear window, shattering it.

The driver quickly took the passenger to a hospital. His condition is considered critical but stable.

Police have not yet identified a suspect or released a possible motive for the shooting.
