Conspiracy theorist Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) was taken to task on social media Monday after she once again praised secession.
“If the Biden administration refuses to stop the cartel human and drug trafficking invasion of our country, states should consider seceding from the union,” wrote Greene, a close ally of the House speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-California).

Greene has made similar calls in the past.
On Presidents Day she called for a “national divorce”
“We need to separate red and blue states and shrink the federal government. Everyone I talk to says this,” she wrote in one post Many Democrats and Republicans joined together to condemn it.
She later said she had called for a nationwide divorce so that Republicans would “our own safe space“, adding that the newly divorced red states could then ban Democrats who move there from voting for five years.
Greene also brought up the issue in 2021, asked in a Twitter poll if America should “have a national divorce.”
Still, McCarthy remained in Greene’s corner.
