According to MLS rules, playing in another league while under contract with a team is a direct breach of contract, giving CF Montreal the easy decision to terminate Milijevic’s contract after an investigation.

Montreal confirmed Milijevic’s departure from the club for “conduct detrimental to the league and in violation of its standard player agreement.”

According to a report by Quebec sports publication Dans Les Coulisses, Milijevic was convinced to play in the amateur league by a friend.

The 22-year-old scored six goals and two assists in the three games he played, although six of his eight goal contributions came in a single game.

But his time in the QCSL took a bitter turn when he became involved in a physical altercation with an opponent in which he allegedly spit and punched his rival, which resulted in Milijevic being banned from the amateur league for life.

Milijevic’s real background as a professional footballer was soon uncovered by QCSL officials. He was asked to play under his real name if he wanted to continue playing in the league.

The attacking midfielder joined the Canadian team from Argentine club Argentinos Juniors in August 2021 and scored two goals and provided two assists in 35 regular season appearances for Montreal.
