Maura Higgins’ ex Curtis Pritchard reveals his ‘civil’ meeting with Longford model

“It was polite. We met by chance and it was really nice to say hello.

The couple split in March 2020, just seven months after a romance sparked on the 2019 series Love Island.

Curtis was accused of cheating on Maura at the time – a claim he denied – leaving fans eagerly awaiting their reunion on the Love Island Games.

Maura acted as the show’s social media ambassador after impressing Love Island bosses when she played the same role on the US version of the show, while Curtis returned as a contestant.

On The Nikki and Brie Show, Curtis admitted: “Yes, we did [bump into each other] to be honest.”

“She did a great job on the show.”

“But yes, we saw each other and we also saw each other outside the villa after the whole program was over.”

“We met by chance and had a follow-up conversation.”

“We were all polite, it was good. I asked how she was doing, how the family was doing, how everything was going and told her she looked good and [congratulated her] about the work she did on the show.”

“It was civil. We met by chance and it was really nice to say hello.”

Maura recently spoke about seeing “too familiar” faces at Love Island Games, which included Curtis.

Capital Late Show host Kem Cetinay had questioned whether he should actually call Curtis her “ex.”

“Well, these days you really have to say ex. Judging by your reaction, it was a bit strange, wasn’t it?”

“You know what? “Everyone’s really upset about it because they obviously know that if he got eliminated from the show or if he made it to the finals, I would have had to interview him,” Maura explained.

“So yeah, we could have a run-in there. So yeah, I don’t know how much I can say, but… it was interesting.”

“I’m sure there will be an interview at some point?” Kem asked

Maura replied: “Yes, there is an interview. I don’t really know if I’m allowed to say that or not.”

“But I mean, there’s an interview and I’m trying to think of how it went, like it was okay, I think I was nice. I think,” Maura continued.

“I think there may have been moments where I wasn’t particularly polite, but I think I presented it as more of a joke.”

The professional dancer “Dancing With The Stars” made it to the final of the fifth part of the series in 2019.

Curtis, 27, came fourth alongside his ex-girlfriend Maura, 32, after receiving the fewest votes from the public.

He was one of the British names returning to the hit franchise for new spin-off series Love Island The Games, but was voted in by Ray Gantt and Imani Wheeler alongside Love Island Sweeden alum Lisa Celander , to be put on the chopping block.

Pritchard previously spoke about his relationship with Maura and her romance with “best friend” Chris Taylor.

Speaking on Celebs Go Dating in 2021, he explained: “I never thought I’d want to say bad things about anyone, but my previous relationship wasn’t, shall we say, the healthiest.”

“She wasn’t my usual type, a totally hot, fiery character, and behind closed doors I’m a fiery character – in dance you have to be – and in the bedroom and stuff, I’m a bit like that, you know.”
