Meet Rushawn Ewears, the kid behind the viral “It’s a Beautiful Day” sound on TikTok.
Rushawn Ewearsthe now viral singer at the center of the Beautiful Day trend hails from Jamaica.
Although Rushawn was ten years old when the video was recorded, the clip didn’t reappear online until Rushawn turned 16. Since then, sound has exploded on TikTok.

“Say this morning / I woke up and looked in the mirror / And every part of my body was in place / Many people died and never saw that day,” he sings in the original video. And TBH, Rushawn spat out plain facts.
“So another day I live, I guess / I never want to act too high and mighty / For tomorrow I may fall on my face / So in everything, Lord, I praise you,” the song continues.
Then the hook falls and the crowd goes wild. “Lord, thank you for sunshine / thank you for rain / thank you for joy / thank you for pain / it’s a beautiful day!”
While Rushawn popularized “Beautiful Day” on social media, he’s not the song’s original creator. The song was originally released by Jermaine Edwards almost a decade ago.

Rushawn’s rendition of “It’s A Beautiful Day” inspired countless TikTok remixes.
Rushawn’s vocals have been credited to popular creators such as Remixed The Kiffness — who has racked up more than a million views so far with his ukelele remix of “Beautiful Day” — and TRINIX.
It’s safe to say that this song is certified bop on social media, and Rushawn couldn’t be more grateful.
“I don’t know how many people have seen the song, but music is an inspiration to me. Sometimes when you’re feeling down, music helps motivate you,” he said in an interview with The Jamaica Gleaner.
