Alex Murdaugh is accused of killing his wife Maggie and youngest son Paul to cover up or distract investigators from his admitted financial crimes.

Simpson said he believes Murdaugh took the stand to tell a juror or two that he was a “good ol’ boy” and admits that “lying and stealing is different from murder.”

The former soccer star continued, “I’m not qualified to really say whether the guy did it or not,” before adding, “From what I’ve seen, I think it’s more likely that he did.” has ? Yes. But more likely corresponds to a reasonable doubt. So, as far as I know, I have to say that there are many legitimate doubts.”

Simpson says he’s confident Murdaugh will eventually go to jail for all the financial crimes he admitted on the witness stand, but on the murder charges, “I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he beats that. I’m just saying.”

In an interesting turn of events, Simpson said, “I think he should be investigated more because of the death of his housekeeper a few years ago, which ended up with over $4 million in insurance money. I think they should take a close look at that.”
