Gardaí seized cannabis worth around €250,000

A man has been arrested after gardaí seized €250,000 worth of cannabis when they stopped a car on the motorway on Saturday morning.

The stop and search operation, carried out as part of Operation Tara, was carried out by gardaí attached to the District K Drugs Unit.

During the search, gardaí stopped a vehicle on the M50 in Finglas, Dublin 11, yesterday morning, November 4th, where they seized approximately €250,000 of suspected herbal cannabis and €6,000 worth of cash.

The drugs will now undergo analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

A man in his early 40s was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at a Garda station in north Dublin under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
