Patty Jenkins has decided against redeveloping the Wonder Woman sequel

As most of you know, DC Universe fans were rocked by some pretty big reveals yesterday. James Gunn and Peter Safran have crafted the next phase of the franchise, but not every previously announced project is safe. One of these projects is wonder woman 3which is said to be no longer progressing because it “is presumed dead in his current incarnation.” Corresponding meetingJenkins reportedly had the opportunity to make another pass wonder woman continued but chose to leave instead.

Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns recently submitted their treatment wonder woman 3. James Gunn, Peter Safran, and Warner Bros. Pictures co-chairs and co-CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy then told Jenkins that was not the into the new (but still evolving) plans‘ for the new DC Universe. Deadline’s report states that the sequel script “had character arc issues rivaling those of Wonder Woman 1984,‘ which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. Gunn, Safran, De Luca and Abdy voiced their concerns, but Patty Jenkins “fought back and defended her vision that the threequel’s character arcs were solid.“The director ended up leaving the project instead of redeveloping it.

It’s not clear if Gal Gadot wants to do another one wonder woman Sequel without Patty Jenkins, but the actress recently tweeted how grateful she was to play the character. “A few years ago it was announced that I would play Wonder Woman,‘ Gadot wrote. “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character, and more than anything, I’m grateful to YOU. the fans I can’t wait to share her next chapter with you.James Gunn also addressed yesterday’s report, saying that “Some of it is true, some of it is half true, some of it isn’t true, and some of it we haven’t yet decided if it’s true or not.“So what’s the moral of the story? Nothing is set in stone, and we really won’t know what the plan for the new DC Universe is until Gunn and Safran officially reveal it.
