By now everyone has heard of Peloton, and if you’re thinking, “Isn’t that absurdly expensive stationary bike?” you’re… Somehow Right. But hear me out: Peloton has become a household name for a reason, and I should know it; I’ve been using them in the studio since 2015 and bought them my own bike in 2020. As someone who has never really been interested in exercise, I can honestly say that discovering Peloton has completely changed the game, and I actually look forward to working out thanks to the wide range of classes on offer. If you’ve ever been interested in getting on the Peloton train, er, riding your own bike, it happens to be on sale as an Amazon early Black Friday deal (making it $350 less absurdly expensive). And be sure to check out these others too Peloton Black Friday dealsto.
Why is it a good offer?
The Peloton bike is currently down from $1,445 to its Prime Day price of $1,095, and according to our price trackers, that’s an all-time low. Remember, the Peloton app puts virtually any type of home workout right at your fingertips, so it’ll cost less in the long run than going to a gym.
Why do I need this?
Okay, it’s a bike that’s not going anywhere – what could be so special, you ask? First of all, it is hands down the smoothest stationary bike I’ve ever ridden, and I’ve been to over a dozen spin studios in New York City.
What really sets it apart, however, is the variety of courses available to you through the app, which costs $44 per month for an all-access membership (100% worth it since your entire household will use it can). . Not only can you choose from thousands of rides, but you can also take classes like barre, yoga, strength training, and more without leaving your home. So handy, and as winter approaches you won’t have to drag yourself to the gym in the cold.
Now back to the bike. It comes with a touchscreen above the handles that is very easy to navigate even for tech-savvy people. Once you’ve connected it to Wi-Fi, created a profile, and logged in (more on spin shoes below), you can choose classes based on type, length, trainer, muscle group, and even music. (I’m a fan of Cody Rigsby’s ’90s rides myself, as they literally feel like dance parties.) Once you’ve done enough rides, you’ll get a feel for the types of courses that appeal to you and because find traction there There are so many categories that there is almost always a course that I’m excited about. After all, finding the motivation to even get on the bike is often the hardest part.
Ride the Peloton
I had taken a few spinning classes before I started Peloton bike, and I could immediately tell it was a superior model. The handlebars and seat can be adjusted to suit your comfort, and in all my years of cycling, I’ve always marveled at how smooth the pedals feel. Of course, if you’re new to spinning, you’ll probably want to start off slower, and Peloton has plenty of rides for beginners to help you get used to it. As for the basics, there is an orange button in the middle of the bike, below the handlebars. To increase resistance, turn it to the right and vice versa. This is really the only adjustment you will need to make as the class progresses. Otherwise, you can focus on your form, speed and breathing.
One of the things I love most about Peloton is its low environmental impact. I’ve tried running before, but it always felt rough on my body. The bike has suspension on you, which takes some of the pressure off, but make no mistake – it’s a killer workout! From speed intervals to climbing hills, the courses can be as challenging as you want them to be, and I feel comfortable knowing that the super-supportive instructors are right there with me (at least via the screen). I also find the progress bar very motivating – you can track your miles ridden and calories burned, as well as performance during the class, and you might even see a virtual high-five from another rider who is on the course appearing on your screen at the same time, which always gives me a little serotonin boost. Those post-workout endorphins are also a real mood booster.
One thing I have to say is that although the bike is quite slim and doesn’t take up much space, it is very difficult. I highly recommend you opt for professional installation to ensure it is set up properly and to save your back!
What reviewers say
Don’t just take my word for it – here’s what verified Amazon customers had to say.
“I had heard good things about the Peloton bike, but was worried it would harm my knees (I’m over 50). [a] “I have a family history of knee problems) or that my butt would get tired of sitting in the saddle,” someone shared satisfied buyer. “Well, I’ve had the bike for over a month now and I’m hooked. The variety of workouts when you subscribe to their app (there are lots of options that aren’t available on the bike) has helped me lose a few pounds and suddenly I’m motivated to do just 10 to 15 minutes a day training just to keep up my winning streak. I will do some of my training on the bike and also opt for strength training.”
“As for all the hype surrounding Peloton – BELIEVE IT,” he explained another fan. “I’ve been riding my bike every day since I got it and I look forward to it. The choice of rides is endless and only takes five minutes – no excuses! …I absolutely love my bike and am glad to have one.”
“I was skeptical about Peloton,” a admitted Convert. “As the weather got colder and it started raining this season, I decided to take the plunge. The bike has worked wonderfully so far. No problems. The whole family uses it now and it has changed the game.” .. The ONLY criticism is the saddle. It could be a little better, but is sufficient for my daily 30 mile rides. Maybe I need to adjust a little more on my end, but overall I couldn’t be happier.” (Psst: This #1 bestseller Gel seat cover is compatible with Peloton if you want additional cushioning.)

“It changes my life,” enthused a reviewer. “With today’s unpredictable schedules, it’s wonderful to have instant access to cycling and so many inspiring classes/instructors. We love the wider screen and the ability to pivot for non-bike yoga, strength, mat stretching workouts, etc. Like a home gym with a small footprint.”
“I have to give the Peloton cycling shoes a run for their money – they absolutely deserve a solid 5-star rating in my book,” wrote one Cyclist. “These shoes have completely improved my cycling level. First things first: the fit is exceptional. They hug my feet in a way that makes pedaling a dream. And the quality is clear – they are built for long distances. Which is really convincing.” The advantage for me is how seamlessly they work with my Peloton bike. Attaching the cleats is a breeze and the power transfer during my rides is super smooth. And let’s not forget style – not only do these shoes perform, they look good too… All in all, Peloton cycling shoes have become a staple in my cycling routine. They add comfort, durability and a touch of flair to every ride. If you like Peloton, these shoes are a must. “
