People are just realizing that the iPhone lock button has a secret function – it’s so useful once you find it

YOUR iPhone has a trick that most people have probably overlooked.
It’s hidden in your iPhone’s side button — the button you use to lock your handset.
Despite being a single button, it has many functions.
Clicking it once will lock your handset. This is common knowledge.
Clicking it twice will launch it straight into Apple Pay – so you can make contactless payments.
If you press and hold it, you will find that Siri is activated.

This allows you to perform a voice command as if you said “Hey Siri” out loud.
But there is an additional feature: restarting your iPhone.
When Apple dropped the home button on the iPhone X, it was impossible to simply press and hold the side button to turn off the handset.
That’s because holding down will invoke Siri.
But you can still turn off your iPhone with the button if you know how.
All you have to do is hold down the side button with one of the volume buttons.
If you do it right, your iPhone will turn itself off and on again.
Of course, that’s not the only way to restart your phone.
You can do this manually by going into the Settings app.
To do this, go to Settings > General and select Shut down.
Once your phone turns off, you can press and hold the side button to turn it back on.
And if you’ve updated to the latest iOS 16 software (under Settings > General > Software update), you can also do it by voice command.
Just say “Hey Siri, restart my iPhone”.
