People are realizing a life-saving hack right now when your car won’t start

SOME drivers go to their car to shift gears only to find their shifter is stuck.
Luckily, a driving expert on YouTube has unveiled a handy hack that will help you change gears when this vital vehicle component isn’t moving.
The Video begins with @dashishuoche Filming a stuck car gear knob containing a dust cap.
After slipping the dust cover over the shifter, we see several mechanical components.
All you have to do is press the bright yellow button, which is shown below the shift lever, with a key or something similar.
This yellow button is an enable switch that overrides the shift lock on automatic transmission vehicles.

Release occurs when the button unlocks the vehicle’s transmission shaft.
But not all cars have dust covers surrounding their shifter.
Most modern automatic vehicles have a keyhole near the gearshift.
Open these slots with something like a screwdriver and insert your unlocking tool into the hole.
The most common cause of a sticking shifter is not replacing the transmission oil in a timely manner.
Transmission oil lubricates moving parts and provides hydraulic pressure and friction to keep internal parts working.
Like motor oil, old transmission oil degrades and loses its lubricating and cleaning properties.
A lack of lubricating and cleaning properties can mean high transmission temperatures, sludge build-up and excessive part friction.
Conventional automatic transmissions, dual-clutch automatic transmissions, and continuously variable automatic transmissions use a specific type of fluid.
Consult your owner’s manual if you are unsure of the fluid used in your transmission.
