Peter Frampton acquired music holdings from BMG

BMG has bought again.
The company has acquired the catalog rights from Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum singer-songwriter Peter Frampton.
According to a BMG press release, the deal includes Frampton’s “publishing interests, songwriter, recording artist and sideman revenue streams, and related rights.”
The agreement spans his entire musical career, from his work with British hitmakers The Herd in the late ’60s to supergroup Humble Pie in the ’70s, to superstar status as a solo artist with hit songs Show me the way, baby, I love your way, do you feel like us, I’m inside you and I can’t take it anymoreamong many others.
Throughout his career, Frampton has worked with legendary artists such as George Harrison, BB King, Buddy Guy, Carly Simon, Harry Nilsson, Donovan, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ringo Starr, Diana Ross, Herb Alpert, Dionne Warwick, Steve Miller and Mike McCready & Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam), among many others.
BMG’s deal with Peter Frampton follows news Tuesday (December 6) that the company has acquired the music interests of Driving Home For Christmas singer-songwriter Chris Rea
The two new deals follow news last month that BMG has acquired the royalties on the recordings of multi-platinum eurodance star Haddaway.
Other recent deals completed by BMG include the acquisition of the recording catalog of multi-platinum German pop-rock band Fools Garden.
The music company also struck a deal last month to acquire the song rights from Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson.
Frampton became a successful child guitarist and at the age of 16 he joined The Herd and had three UK Top 10 hits.
At 18, Frampton co-founded one of the earliest supergroups, seminal rock act Humble Pie, and recorded four studio albums as well as the gold-certified live album Rockin’ The Fillmore.
As a solo artist, Frampton achieved commercial success, releasing 18 studio albums and four live albums. In 1972 he released his debut album Wind of Change, followed by Frampton’s Camel, Somethin’s Happening and the gold-certified Frampton.
In 1976, Frampton released the US chart-topping, 8x Platinum certified Frampton comes alive!featuring live versions of songs from his first four solo albums.
The album received a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year and stayed at No. 1 on the US Billboard chart for 10 weeks. It was certified 3x Platinum in Australia and Gold in the UK and Canada. After more than four decades, the album remains one of the best-selling live records of all time, selling over 17 million copies worldwide.
His follow-up studio album I am in you once again achieved commercial success around the world, with the album going platinum in the US, Australia, Canada and silver in the UK.
In 2007, Frampton won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album for fingerprints and was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2014. In 2019 he received the prestigious Les Paul Innovation Award from NAMM’s TEC Awards and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2020.
His 2019 album All blueswas #1 for 15 weeks on Billboard’s Blues chart, his 2020 autobiography Do you feel like me?: A reminder debuted on the New York Times Best Seller list and most recently his new album Frampton Forgets The Words has been released to critical acclaim.
