PM Modi discusses post-budget webinar on technology

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak in a post-budget webinar on Tuesday on “Unlocking the Potential: Convenience in Life through Technology.” According to an official statement, the webinar will cover the budget announcements related to the DigiLocker entity, national data management, address update facility, fintech services, AI (artificial intelligence) center of excellence and the Karmayogi mission, e-courts, 5G and Discuss simplicity Do business.

The discussions would also revolve around the simplification of KYC, Common Business Identifier, Unified Filing Process, among other things.

The Prime Minister will address the post-budget webinar on “Unlocking the Potential: Making Life Easier through Technology” via video conference on Tuesday at 10am, the press release said.

The webinar is hosted by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology and co-led by the Department for the Promotion of Industry and Domestic Trade (DPIIT). It will include discussions on the budget announcements related to the topic and the specifics of the Department of IT, DPIIT, Department of Justice, Department of Telecommunications, Department of Expenditure and Department of Commerce.

The stakeholders and experts from state governments, industry, start-ups, academia and civil society will discuss and develop milestones and implementation plans on the most important budget announcements.

“Several prominent figures, namely Debjani Ghosh, NASSCOM, Judge A. Muhamed Mustaque, Pawan Goenka, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, and Akash Ambani, Reliance Jio Infocomm, will grace the webinar and share their insights in the opening plenary session after Alkesh will provide context Kumar Sharma, Secretary MeitY,” says the press release.

Four parallel breakout sessions were held as part of the webinar – Ease of Living Using Technology for Access (led by MeitY), Ease of Access Justice (led by DoJ), Ease of Doing Business Using Technology, especially for small businesses ( led by DPIIT) and Ease of Living with 5G use cases and labs (led by DoT) will be organized.

The closing plenary session will be summarized by the breakout session moderators and Union ministers will be able to make closing remarks, the press release added.
