PM Modi likely to target BJP workers if party wins elections in Nagaland, Tripura

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address BJP workers and supporters on Thursday as the party appears poised to retain power in Tripura alone and with its senior Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party ally in Nagaland.
Official sources said Modi is likely to be congratulated on the victory at a meeting of senior party leaders at his headquarters here.

The number of seats the BJP has either won or is holding was 33 in Tripura, according to the latest figures from the Electoral Commission for the 60-member assembly elections.
The corresponding figure for the party and its allies is 36 in Nagaland. In Meghalaya, the BJP led with three seats and could rejoin the NPP to be part of the government like last time.

Their victory in Tripura is significant as the Left and Congress had united against them while Pradyot Debbarma-led TIPRA Motha lost support among the tribesmen. However, the BP continued to retain popular support.
