Police search for hotel guest accused of shooting security guard in Homestead – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

HOMESTEAD, FL. (WSVN) – I was close to a young security guard who was shot in Homestead.

Surveillance video captured the moment shots were fired at the Garden Inn Saturday evening.

The security guard was on the hotel premises and told police that she was dealing with a suspicious guest who had requested a room change.

After smelling marijuana in the room, hotel staff informed the guest that he could not extend his stay.

Minutes later, shots were fired at that security guard.

“When I turned around, he started shooting,” said Juliana, the security guard. “That’s when I set off. I just drove forward and then he kept trying to shoot. That’s when the police were called and the police arrived.”

Juliana was uninjured after the shots.

The police are now looking for the shooter.
