Red Wing Shoes Just Revealed A Real-Life Version Of Mario’s Legendary Boots – Sourcing Journal

Red Wing Shoes celebrates The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which hits theaters April 5 and brings to life the shoes of a beloved iconic character.

On Friday, March 10th, also known as “MAR10 Day”, the iconic footwear brand unveiled a one-of-a-kind prototype of Mario’s iconic boots.

Fans of the Mario franchise have a unique opportunity to celebrate the longtime character’s impact on culture by enjoying the shoes in person at Nintendo’s New York flagship store in Rockefeller Center through the end of April.

Working with Red Wing’s master craftsmen, the film’s creative team translated every pixel on screen into a true stitch with durable, natural leather and non-slip treads. The design proves these are the Super Plumber’s boots given the mushroom-based mycelium heel pads that provide a very welcome power-up to help Mario take on Bowser and his army.

Featuring a star cast including Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black and Keegan-Michael Key, the 2023 version of The Super Mario Bros. Movie follows Mario as he prepares to face off against the the almighty Bowser to stop his plans to conquer the world with the help of Princess Peach. The computer-animated fantasy action-adventure comedy hits theaters on April 5th.

The reveal of Mario’s Boots comes just weeks after the MSCHF went viral with its Big Red Boots inspired by the cartoon character Astro Boy.
