Reed Richards defeats the one MCU villain who continues to humiliate Iron Man

Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four has managed to take down an iconic Marvel Comics villain with a tale of the shameful creation of Avenger Iron Man.
The Marvel Comics-based genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist Tony Stark aka iron man has a history of being constantly beaten by Spider-Man’s nemesis Doctor Otto Octavius, aka the supervillain Doctor Octopus. However, it is Iron Man’s own scientific ally and leader of the Fantastic Four Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic who managed to defeat the Doctor with tentacles using a combination of cunning and determination.
Based on the events of writer Jim Shooter (avenger) and artist Mike Zeck (Web of Spider-Man) is the original Secret Wars Saga, 1984 Fantastic Four #267 by writer/artist John Byrne (Uncanny X-Men) finds the Fantastic Four in the lowest ratios. When She-Hulk joins the team in the Thing’s absence, founding member Sue Richards aka the Invisible Woman falls into a coma from exposure to radiation from another world and becomes bedridden. Mr. Fantastic tries to heal his pregnant wife in the hospital, aided by colleagues such as Bruce Banner, Michael Morbius and Walter Langkowski. Reed works in vain and is advised to seek out former nuclear researcher and leading radiation expert Otto Octavius, who may be Sue’s best and only chance of an ideal pregnancy.
Mr. Fantastic arranges for Octavius’ temporary release from the South Brooklyn Psychiatric Facility and sets off with his newest companion. However, it only takes one big Spider-Man billboard to send Octavius into a deep spiral that will quickly turn the seemingly docile man back into villains. Doc Ock wastes no time fighting Reed, who counters Otto’s attacks with his own stretching abilities. During their intense rooftop battle, Reed even admits that Otto is just as uncompromising with his metal tentacles as he is with his own stretching abilities. Luckily, Reed finally manages to locate the weak spot in Doc Ock’s chest plate and manually takes out the villain’s tentacles in one fell swoop. Though Reed Richards possesses the superhuman ability to stretch his limbs, his key ability is his vast, genius intellect that no one can duplicate.
Doc Ock has remained a Spider-Man antagonist but has ventured outside of the web-head’s horizons to battle other main heroes such as Mr. Fantastic and the Avengers. One particular Avenger with whom Octavius shares an undeniable rivalry is Iron Man, who constantly underestimates Otto. Not only did Doc Ock physically defeat the Iron Avenger, but he also humiliated Iron Man by forcing him to cure the twisted scientist’s cancer diagnosis. If Tony didn’t cure the cancer or admit defeat and say Octavius was smarter, Doctor Octopus would detonate a nuclear bomb. Eventually, Tony was unable to cure the villain’s ailment and had to get on his knees and beg Doctor Octopus not to detonate the bomb, while also admitting that Otto is the smarter scientist.
Otto Octavius may have started his supervillain career battling a super-powered teenager, but he’s since expanded his repertoire dramatically. While he has been able to consistently make one iron manit seems that at the end of the day Doctor Octopus is not a game for Reed Richards.
