Returning to Greece in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

Greeks do so many things so well. Food, big, beautiful weddings, and one of the best romantic comedies of all time.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding is now a trilogy, and this new installment takes the whole family home.

Now, this time Nia Vardalos not only stars in the film, she also wrote and directed the screenplay.

But without Michael Constantine, who died in 2021, there will be less Windex on this set, but more love.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 is as laugh-provoking as it is thought-provoking.

But this time, following the death of one of its main characters two years ago, it’s more heartwarming than ever.

Nia Vardalos: “I wanted to pay tribute. Everyone has a Michael Constantine story. He’s funny and I have a hard time actually talking about him in the past tense because he’s so much a part of us.”

Gia Cardes: “OK, Joey Fatone has a brand new tattoo. It says, “Let’s go Gus.” It’s got the Greek flag.”

In this third installment, Toula Portokalos and the family, the whole family, travel to Greece for a reunion. And the site search went exactly as one might imagine, such as when a stranger offered Nia Vardalos his roof.

Nia Vardalos: “And he doesn’t tell his wife, who is sunbathing naked, that we’re coming. So she sees him and says, “What the hell are you doing?” and then says, “Nia Vardalos,” and gets up, takes the smallest washcloth in the world over one breast, walks up to me, and comes to hug us, so we’ve got that get a house.”

They say it all ends well, right? But on this journey, Toula tries to track down her late father’s childhood friends.

Nia Vardalos: “We lost Michael the same year I lost my father and I have decided to channel my grief. I realized that if I go through it, the audience has to do it too.”

Well what about her husband Aidan, I mean Ian, these days?

John Corbett: “Now Ian is retired because Ian and John are the same age. We’re in our 60s and that’s what you do.”

By the way, they are still in love.

John Corbett: “They still laugh at each other’s jokes, which is nice.”

There are twists and turns, but no matter place, place. Location.

Joey Fatone: “I used to only go to Greece with NSYNC. Actually it was in Crete. So we never had the chance to see Mykonos. I still haven’t seen it. Being in Athens and being here where we were shooting is just amazing.”

These Big Fat Greek movies are hot and hearty five-course meals packed with family fun in Portokalos. Grandpa.

Andrea Martin: “Given the last 20 years of people coming up to me, I think people will sit back in their seats and feel cared for.”

In this film there is another marriage, as in both previous ones. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 hits theaters on September 7th.
