Riley Keough recalls an ’embarrassing’ sex scene with her husband for Daisy Jones & the Six.

Take Riley Keough‘s advice, actor: if you’re filming a sex scene, don’t do it with your significant other.
Keough learned that lesson the hard way after she and her husband Ben Smith-Petersen filmed an extremely awkward sex scene for their fictional new Rock Doc series. Daisy Jones and the Six. Smith-Petersen makes a brief cameo appearance in the second episode of the series as a man that Keough’s character Daisy Jones sleeps a night with.
“The cameo came about because I have to have sex with a random person on the show,” Keough explained on Thursday’s episode Late Night with Seth Meyers. “The producers said, ‘It would be so funny if it was your husband!'”
But… actually… “It was more awkward,” she admitted. “I think they thought it would be less of a hassle, and then we got there and they said, ‘This is really uncomfortable.’ For example, I’ve never had fake sex with my husband.”
She continued: “And for two, usually when you’re doing these things, someone comes in for the day. They say, ‘Hello, nice to meet you’ and you kind of get down to business and it’s very professional. We just giggled with him the whole time.”
Meyers then joked that he would be “so worried” about having to fake sex with his wife in front of people if she made any comparisons to them doing the actual deed.
“That’s what happened!” exclaimed Keough. “In that scene, I’m not really enjoying it. And I really always felt like saying, ‘It’s not like that in real life!’ Then I thought, ‘I’ll just keep that to myself.’”

When Smith-Petersen’s character asks if they should switch positions, she effectively ends the evening by reaching for her journal to jot down some lyrics.
Meyers joked, “It’s good you guys got together that if you’re going to have real sex, it should be with him, and act like sex should be with strangers.”
To which a laughing Keough replied, “Yes! That was it.”
Keough, the granddaughter of Elvis Presley and the daughter of the deceased Lisa Marie Presleypreviously told EW about her experience growing up in a musical family helped shape her performance as Daisy, but only to a limited extent. “I’m very knowledgeable about musicians,” she said, “but I’m also very knowledgeable not familiar with singing or playing the guitar. How ever.”
In fact, she and Keough Daisy Jones Bandmates – played by Sam Claflin, Suki Waterhouse, Will Harrison, Josh Whitehouse and Sebastian Chacon – attended rock camp together to transform into the rollicking group they portray on screen. Their hard work culminated in a full-fledged Daisy Jones & the Six concert in front of 100 Prime Video executives and their families.
