[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content]

The parents of Gabby Petito will receive a copy of the shocking letter Roberta Laundrie wrote to her son Brian Laundrie amid the tragic situation surrounding Gabby’s death in 2021. And now we know more about what was written in the stunning note – and why it’s so controversial in the first place.

As we reported, Roberta came under the spotlight of the media and judiciary after writing a message to Brian with some very shocking comments. The handwritten letter – in which Roberta advised her now-deceased son to “burn after you read this” – was the subject of a recent court battle involving Gabby’s parents Nicole Smith And Joseph Petito.

Well, on Wednesday, a Florida judge ruled on Schmidt and Petito will have access to a copy of the letter as part of their lawsuit against the Laundrie family.

As Perezcious readers may recall, the handwritten note appeared to refer to the burial of a corpse. Roberta has claimed she wrote the note Before the voyage on which Brian killed Gabby. However, it was found next to Brian’s body in the Carlton Reservation in October 2021, where he committed suicide during a manhunt for him.

We now know that in the note, Roberta wrote in part:

“I just want you to remember that I will always love you and I know that you will always love me. you are my boy Nothing can stop me from loving you, nothing will or could ever separate us. No matter what we do, where we go or what we say, we will always love each other.”

Amazingly, Brian’s mother added:

“If you’re in prison, I’ll bake a cake with a file in it. If you need to dispose of a body, I’ll come by with a shovel and garbage bags. When you fly to the moon I will watch the sky for your re-entry. If you say you hate my guts, I’ll grow new guts. Remember that love is a verb, not a noun. It’s not a thing, it’s not words, it’s actions. Watch people’s actions to find out if they love you – not their words.”

OMG…

“If you need to dispose of a body, I’ll come with a shovel and garbage bags.”

According to the judge’s verdict on Wednesday Danielle BrewerPer CNN and others, Schmidt and Petito will now have access to a copy of this note ahead of their upcoming civil trial against the Laundrie family.

Per PeopleAttorneys for both sides had been arguing in court this week over the admissibility of the note as part of the upcoming civil lawsuit.

Patrick Reillythe Petitos’ lawyer, claimed the note was written after Gabby’s murder, hinting at Roberta’s involvement in hiding her son from law enforcement. Meanwhile, the Laundrie family’s solicitor is at work Matt Luke has argued that the note was written prior to Brian and Gabby’s fateful journey and was taken out of context due to the events during that fateful tragedy in September 2021.

As part of the Laundrie family’s claim that the letter was taken out of context, Roberta previously argued:

“Understand that the letter contains different phases from those highlighted by Pat Reilly for sensationalism and to support his arguments. … Although I chose words that I thought would have an effect on Brian given our relationship, the letter had nothing to do with Gabby. I really loved my son and just wanted to let him know how much he meant to me and how much I loved him.”

Regardless of when the letter was actually written, Gabby’s family will now have access to it. It’s obviously a big deal for her side in this emotional and difficult civil process.

Following the Petito family’s victory before Judge Brewer on Wednesday, Reilly told the media that Gabby’s parents were encouraged by the decision:

“It’s a win, we’re happy about it, we fought hard for it, we fought for over a year to get this letter. The whole intent is to get answers.”

Reilly continued:

“The Petito family still have many questions about what the Laundrie family knew, what they did with the knowledge they knew and why they didn’t actually come forward and say something. I don’t know if that question will ever be answered, but there are many questions that the family would like to have answered, given the possibility of even graduating in a situation like this.”

Meanwhile, according to the US SunLuka “reiterated Roberta’s concerns” that the letter “could be taken out of context” given the circumstances of Gabby’s killing in 2021. uh… you mean?

We understand that the whole “I love you so much I would help you bury a body” thing can be cute gallows humor between friends or family. But considering that there actually is a body, that there are actual allegations that Brian’s mother knew about it and helped him… you have to admit that it makes sense to take it as evidence. To the right??

The civil process between the two families is currently ongoing. The laundries have filed a motion to dismiss the case against them, and Judge Brewer has indicated she will rule on that motion “at a later date”. CNN and other.

Wednesday’s development marks an important step for the Petito family as they seek to find amends following Gabby’s still shocking death.
