Rowan Atkinson is selling rare classic cars from his incredible collection for a fortune at auction

FILM and TV star Rowan Atkinson has made a huge profit after selling a rare engine from his private collection.
The Lancia HF Integrale EVO II was asking for around £65,000-75,000, but the hammer landed at a whopping £87,750 at Silverstone Auctions in Warwickshire.
Lot number 436, the classic Lancia was part of the Race Retro Show at Stoneleigh Park and attracted a lot of interest.
The show summarized the car as “an excellent example of the Evoluzione II in a very rare color with low mileage and prominent provenance”, which added to its appeal.
Atkinson, a renowned classic car collector, only bought the EVO in May 2021 and was able to resell it with less than 90,000 km on the clock and in fabulous condition.
The auction house further commented: “Atkinson has enjoyed many happy hours in the car and it comes with a comprehensive history file including a full Japanese service history, its V5C and a current MOT.
“This car is ready to be enjoyed and driven as it should be.”
The listing continued: “Originally delivered to Japan, this car was then selected and imported back to the UK in 2011 with duties paid.
It was chosen for its rare Lord Blue colour, which is extremely elegant.”
It’s not uncommon for Rowan Atkinson to enjoy luxury cars, with previous purchases including a McLaren F1 supercar and various models from Aston Martin, Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
