Sam Walker has given up his future contract and is linked with the Dolphins, Roosters and Cooper Cronk
Cooper Cronk has denied “irrelevant” reports that Sam Walker is being pushed around after he was left out of the Roosters’ NRL squad.
Coach Trent Robinson made the surprise decision to send Walker into the New South Wales Cup in Round 8 to test a half combination of Joey Manu and Luke Keary.

It sparked speculation that the 20-year-old could be on the outside, however, as he has said news corp last week “There is no chance” he leaves the club.
But on Friday news corp reported that the Dolphins were contacted by an outside worker to see if there was any interest in Walker’s services.
Cronk, who works for the Roosters as a half-advisor, responded to the report by saying the young halfback was “dedicated.”

“(It’s) interesting because a week ago that same journalist wrote an article with Sam Walker saying he’s committed to the Roosters and he’s coming back and playing good football,” Cronk said in reporting on Friday before the Fox League game.
“I imagine it belongs in the irrelevant category because one week it’s engaged and committed and the other week there are no sources, no one puts a name to it, it’s just being bought around.”
“But the boy is under contract until 2025. I saw him during the week and he committed.
“You’re playing reserve at 5:30, that speaks volumes for your performance and I expect he’ll be a very, very good player this afternoon.”
