San Pasqual High School students charged

ESCONDIDO, Calif. — Three students at San Pasqual High School have been charged in connection with a brawl with a North County Transit District (NCTD) Breeze bus driver.

The incident happened on Tuesday, August 29, when an altercation broke out at the bus stop near the school.

The video released by NCTD shows the moments before and after the fight.

According to Escondido Police, one of the youths in that case was arrested and held in custody for allegedly causing serious bodily harm.

The other two teenagers will be charged with conspiracy and will be handed over to their parents pending the court’s recommendations, police said.

According to the EPD, the bus driver, who NCTD said was on leave pending investigation of the matter, is not currently being charged.

“The safety of our passengers and bus operators is our top priority. NCTD investigations are ongoing. The details of what happened are being thoroughly reviewed from all aspects,” NCTD officials said in a statement.

The Escondido Union High School District also released a statement on the matter, saying, “We are extremely disappointed that some of our students had an after-school physical altercation near San Pasqual High School with an NCTD bus driver.” Her actions is contrary to what we teach our students about the peaceful resolution of conflicts. We are cooperating with the EPD and NCTD in their investigation and students will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action once our investigation is complete.”
