Savannah Guthrie tested positive for Covid while hosting on Tuesday Today.
The anchor unexpected left early from Tuesday’s show. But her positive test was reported on the air by Sheinelle Jones during the show at 8:00 p.m.
“By the way, it was an interesting morning for us,” Jones began. “Like I said Savannah left early, she wasn’t feeling well so she took a Covid test. He was positive.”

Jones added: “As soon as we found out she rushed home to rest. So, Savannah, we love you and wish you a speedy recovery.”
This isn’t the first time Guthrie, 51 – who is vaccinated – has had to miss one Today broadcast because of a positive Covid test. Her first off-air appearance was in January 2022.
The hostess’ sick day comes just a day after her Today counterpart Hoda Kotb was noticeably absent. Kotb, 58, did not return on Tuesday. There was no public explanation as to why Kotb was not on the air or if it was also related to Covid.
