Scream VI: What were you thinking?

Ghostface makes a bloody return with Scream VI, so let us know what you think of the latest installment in the horror franchise.

Ghostface is back and this time they’re taking their killing spree to New York City. scream VI is in theaters now and appears to be another strong part of the long-running franchise. The sequel grossed $5.7 million in Thursday night’s preview and is expected to start at $35 million to $40 million, which would be a franchise high.

After the recent Ghostface murders scream VI find the four survivors leaving Woodsboro behind and starting a new chapter. Melissa Barrera returns as Sam Carpenter alongside Jenna Ortega as Tara Carpenter, Jasmine Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers. Hayden Panettiere also returns as Kirby Reed after her last appearance in Scream 4. New additions to the sequel include Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra and Samara Weaving. Scream directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return to helm the sequel from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.

Our own JimmyO was certainly a fan of scream VIeven calls it the best sequel since scream 2. “scream VI is a huge surprise. It’s exciting, scary and fun, and I’ve been happy to engage with the new players involved,‘ wrote JimmyO in his review. “The filmmakers impressively pick up where Kevin Williamson and the late, great Wes Craven left off. It’s a joy to see the meta-slasher series blossom again. You will fully enjoy the latest edition if you a Scream Fan. While the kills per se aren’t overkill, you’ll see a Ghostface take on all sorts of brutal reins. Perhaps the most brutal of the series. Seriously, this time they’re taking STAB to a whole new level.
