Hamill’s novel (get a copy HERE) has the following description:

Noah Turner sees monsters. His father saw them – and built them a shrine featuring The Wandering Dark, an immersive horror experience the whole family runs. His practical mother has caught the glares but doesn’t want to believe it – she’s too focused on keeping the family from breaking up. And his eldest sister, the dramatic and vulnerable Sydney, doesn’t admit to seeing anything but the welcoming glow of the spotlight… until it swallows her. Noah Turner sees monsters. But unlike his family, Noah chooses to let them in…

Stephen King was a fan of A cosmology of monstersSaying, “If John Irving had ever written a horror novel, it would be something like this. I loved it and I think you will too.

I haven’t read A cosmology of monsters nor myself and actually hadn’t heard of it prior to this TV show announcement, but it sounds interesting to me. I may need to check out the book while waiting for the adaptation to make its way into the world.
