Sky is rolling out a huge free TV update including a new way to find your lost remote control and better picture quality

SKY is introducing some big new features for its TV products which will be available as part of a free update.

The broadcasting giant has made several big changes to Sky Glass, its keyless internet-based service built into TVs.

Folks who keep losing the remote control will be pleased to know that a special trick to finding it is among the treats.

From next month you can say to your Sky Glass “Hi Sky, where’s my remote” and the remote will start beeping.

Anyone with Sky Q will already know this hack.

But beyond that, you can also notice better image quality while chilling on the sofa.

Higher contrast, brightness and color accuracy will be available for all Sky Glass TVs.

That’s thanks to updates to the re-titled Aurora display, which is rolling out now and should be available to all customers by the end of the week.

According to Sky, the change will improve the existing Vivid mode from the options menu, delivering a visually punchier image with higher levels of contrast and color saturation for popping colours.

All Sky TV platforms will also soon see the new ITVX app land.

ITVX replaces the failing ITV Hub and promises to offer new and exclusive programming every week of the year.

It officially launches on December 8th, but is already coming to iOS, Android, and desktop.

Sky Glass and Sky Stream devices have started receiving the update, with Sky Q to follow in the coming weeks.

Sky says there are a few more exciting updates planned early next year, so keep your eyes peeled.
