Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 will be the last

The upcoming fifth season of Star Trek: Discovery is set to be its last, and Paramount Plus announces the show’s official end.

It looks like that Star Trek: Discovery The crew’s five-year mission won’t be renewed as Paramount+ announced today that the show’s upcoming fifth season will be its last. It’s now set to end in early 2024, meaning not one, but two of the streamers star trek Shows will end within the next twelve months Star Trek: Picard The third and final season is currently airing.

That is, the star trek Franchise doesn’t seem to be stalling anytime soon, either Star Trek: Strange New Worlds move to Paramount+ as the franchise’s flagship show. It’s earned raves, and many are hailing it as a return to the classic Trek vibe of the original shows. Star Trek: Lower Decks And Star Trek: Child Prodigy Both are currently airing on the streamer, with a new show being planned around Starfleet Academy.

Above all, Star Trek: Discovery is the only show still airing on Paramount+, which began when the service was originally called CBS All Access. Accordingly meetingproduction of season five is already complete, but with the decision to end the show, additional filming may be done to give it a proper ending.

In a statement, showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise said they were honored to have been a part of the series. “The ‘Trek’ universe means so much to so many – including us – and we couldn’t be prouder of everything that Discovery has added to its legacy, particularly with representation. If only one person sees themselves or the possibilities for their future in a new way because of Discovery, then we think we would have made Gene Roddenberry very proud.”

Kurtzman remains involved with the franchise and serves as executive producer on all currently ongoing films star trek Series.
