Super Mario Bros. pranked Jack Black into wearing Bowser’s costume on The Kelly Clarkson Show

JackBlack has Bowser energy!
The Super Mario Bros. Movie star, 53, accidentally channeled his character from the upcoming film The Kelly Clarkson Show Thursday, in a hilarious apparent misunderstanding with his castmates.
“I’m not going out there,” Black agreed Clarkson, who tracked down the actor after finding him backstage disguised as the villainous Bowser. “Everyone said we’re going to dress up in costumes and I’m the only dumb guy that’s dressed up in a costume and I’m not going out there now.”
After the “Breakaway” singer, 40, told the actor that the other cast members, including Chris Pratt, Keegan-Michael Key And Charlie DayThey were “stupid – you look great,” she persuaded Black to join them.

The Tenacious D rocker performed some signature high kicks to the delight of the audience and then took the stage with the other stars.
“I think it was like a really funny prank they played on me like we all dress in character and then they didn’t and I can’t take it off now because like someone put super glue in there, ” he said.
Black then turned to Key and said, “I’m so mad at you!”

Black-as-Bowser is one of the many highly-anticipated casting coups for the new film, which is due out in April.

While Pratt and Day appear as Mario and Luigi, and button plays Toad, the film also features Anya Taylor Joy as Princess Peach, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armissen as Cranky Kong, KevinMichaelRichardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as a tip.

It’s also clear that the story has high stakes. “There’s a huge universe out there,” Princess Peach tells Mario. “With many galaxies. They are all counting on us.”
The screenplay was written by The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part Alum Matthew Fogel.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie opens in theaters on April 7th.
