A suspected thief appeared in court today accused of stealing a quantity of lead from a health and social care trust.
In the dock at Antrim Magistrates Court in Ballymena, 47-year-old Darren James McCann pleaded not guilty to all three charges against him, all of which were allegedly committed on August 10 this year.
McCann, of Altmore Close, Antrim, is accused of damaging tiles at the Health Trust, stealing lead of an unknown value from the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and using a hammer and wrenches to commit theft or burglary.
None of the alleged facts giving rise to the charges were disclosed in court. In order to release McCann, District Judge Nigel Broderick said he would set a trial date of October 2.
