Terrible moment Driver is STUCK in runaway car at 60mph for 320 miles, forcing him to drive until he runs out of fuel

A DRIVER was trapped in a runaway car for hours when cruise control failed, forcing him to drive 320 miles before running out of fuel.
The driver, identified as Mr Luo in local reports, got stuck outside the city of Zhuzhou in Hunan province after his Haval H6 crossover refused to slow down from its speed of around 100 km/h.
He was unable to cancel cruise control mode in his vehicle and then found his brakes were also not working, according to local media.
Mr. Luo called the local authorities while driving to let them know about his terrible situation.
Police sent an escort to the freeway to make sure the driver didn’t collide with anyone, but even after Haval engineers were called for a live call with Mr. Luo, nothing could be done to stop the runaway vehicle to stop.
After the malfunction, the driver was forced to drive hundreds of miles on the highway until his car finally ran out of fuel.
The driver was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the incident, and Chinese website AutoHome reported he said that shortly after realizing what was going on, he lost control of his emotions and feared for his life.
Investigations into why the SUV got stuck in cruise control are still ongoing after it took Mr. Luo about five hours to finally get to a stop.
This Haval SUV is one of the most popular car models in China and was first introduced in 2011. However, as of October 2015, the five-door SUV is the best-selling SUV in the country.
Haval does not sell vehicles in most Western countries, including the UK and US.
The incident involving Mr. Luo is not the first of its kind, after it was reported that a car was stuck in cruise control on the highway for over 50 miles in China in 2019.
