The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents character posters tease Panem’s future

New posters for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents have been released and feature the current regime overseeing the 10th Hunger Games, as well as characters who will shape the future of Panem. The Hunger Games prequel is set to hit theaters on November 17, 2023 Lionsgate Movies.
One of the character posters in the spotlight Tom Blyth as Coriolanus “Coryo” Snow, an 18-year-old who will one day become the tyrannical President of Panem. Other character posters include: Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird, Josh Andrés Rivera as Sejanus Plinth, hunter shepherd as Tigris snow, Peter Dinklage as Casca “Cas” Highbottom, Viola Davis as dr Volumnia Gaul, and Jason Schwartzman as Lucretius “Lucky” Flickerman.

“The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes follows a young Coriolanus (Blyth) who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol.” read it in the official summary. “With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Zegler), a tribute from impoverished District 12. But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates Panem audiences, Snow sees an opportunity, her destiny to change.”

“Having everything he’s worked for at stake, Snow teams up with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in her favor,” the synopsis continues. “Fighting his instincts for good and evil, Snow races against the clock to survive and see if he ends up being a songbird or a snake.”
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents is based on the 2020 novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. The prequel is set 64 years before Katniss Everdeen appears in the tribute The hunger Games.
Francis Lawrence, who directed the last three films in the Hunger Games series, returns to direct The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, from a screenplay by Michael Lesslie and Academy Award winner Michael Arndt. Lawrence is producing alongside Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson. Executive producers include Collins, Jim Miller, Tim Palen and Mika Saito.
