The British Foreign Secretary speaks to his Indian counterpart about BBC tax investigations

British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly raised the issue of the BBC tax investigation with India’s foreign ministers during a bilateral meeting on Wednesday, the minister said in an interview.
Last month, Indian tax authorities carried out searches at the BBC’s offices in New Delhi and Mumbai.
The raids came after the Indian government reacted angrily to a British broadcaster documentary about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership of the western state of Gujarat during the 2002 riots.
