“‘The Circus’ is ending after eight seasons on Showtime”

Showtime drags it down circus Tent.

The November 12th episode of The circusthe political documentary series with presenter Johannes Heilemann, Mark McKinnon And Jennifer Palmieri, will be the last of the show. Launched in 2016 following that year’s presidential election campaign, The circus The show ran for eight seasons and 130 episodes and chronicled the ins and outs of the Trump administration, the 2020 presidential campaign and election, and the current Biden administration.

The series received four Emmy nominations over its run and received mostly positive reviews from critics.

“When we started The circus “In 2016 we thought it would be a one-off deal,” Heilemann told Politico, which first reported the show’s ending. “Eight seasons and 130 episodes later, we’re still thrilled that Showtime gave us the trust and support that kept us motivated throughout this long, strange journey – and that we were able to prove that our idea, a weekly look behind To set the scene, the real-time documentary series about American politics wasn’t as unhinged as it seemed. Recent episodes have covered the ouster of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, the role artificial intelligence could play in elections, and the state of the presidential election a year before the 2024 vote.
