Those enrolled in the Guaranteed Income for Transgender Program receive $1,200 in direct payments each month.

This is part of the Universal Basic Income (UBI) initiative, which will last 18 months.

The money can be spent as the recipients wish.

The program is implemented in partnership with the city, medical and mental health provider Lyon-Martin Community Health Services, and the nonprofit Transgender District.

“Guaranteed Income for Transgender People (GIFT) will provide economically marginalized transgender people with an unrestricted, monthly guaranteed income to help fight the poverty facing our most vulnerable community members,” officials who lead the program said.

Who is Eligible?

To be eligible, you must identify as either transgender, non-binary, intersex, or gender non-conforming.

Applicants must also be at least 18 years old and live in San Francisco.

Also, you must be earning less than $600 per month at the time of application.

Anyone who qualifies can apply online by submitting their personal information including first name, phone number and email address.

You will also need a list of receipts.

According to officials, this includes the following.

Along with this information, you must be willing to fill out a survey and new surveys every three months.

A total of 55 people will be selected to participate, but you must act soon.

The application period ends in exactly one week on Thursday, December 15th.

Other UBI programs

There are many other locations across the country that offer UBI.

Another program in West Hollywood, California caters to the LGBTQIA community.

It offers $1,000 in payments for 17 months to those who identify as either lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex or asexual.

Recipients must earn 50 percent of the average income in Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Glendale to qualify.

The application deadline was in March.

It was said that the first monthly payment would go out on April 15th.

Separately, officials in Coachella, Calif., have launched an income program that will give 140 families $400 a month for two years.

Upon acceptance, participants can choose to have the funds deposited monthly into their checking account or loaded onto a prepaid card that they receive in the mail.

However, applications will be closed on Friday 11 November.

Eligible families will receive support from January 2023.

Thousands of applicants in Cook County, Illinois will be notified via email and phone of the selection of another Guaranteed Income Pilot.

To qualify, household income had to be at or below 250 percent of the federal poverty line.

According to official figures, most participants will receive their first monthly payments of $500 in December.

Likewise, Denver, Colorado, began sending multiple batches of payments to hundreds of residents on Tuesday.

For example, 260 people receive $6,500 upfront, followed by $500 in monthly payments for 11 months.

Another payment goes to 260 people who will receive $1,000 per month for a year.

And the last batch of 300 gets $50 a month for a year.

The payments are intended to help people affected by housing insecurity.
