The full trailer for the Yellowstone prequel has been unveiled

I’ll admit that was the first thing that went through my mind when I saw the full trailer for 1923‘Paramount Plus’ long awaited yellowstone Prequel limited series. While we previously received a teaser introducing us to the concept of the show, this is a new, expanded trailer released in today’s episode of yellowstone on the Paramount Network, gives a full look at one of the most talked about shows of the winter. It also reveals one of the show’s main villains, Donald Whitfield, played by none other than former 007 Timothy Dalton, who appears to be a land baron at odds with the Dutton clan. Given how things are going for opponents of the Duttons in general, I’d say Dalton’s character will almost certainly meet a horrible end.

As previously revealed, Harrison Ford will play Jacob Dutton, who along with his beloved wife Cora (his mosquito coast co-star Helen Mirren), runs the Yellowstone ranch. Jacob is the brother of James Dutton (played by Tim McGraw in 1883), the fans of yellowstone Tradition will note, died sometime in the 1890s while protecting his family. Jacob watches over James’ son John Dutton Sr (James Badge Dale), grandfather of Kevin Costner’s John Dutton III, on the flagship yellowstone Show.

It should be noted that the yellowstone The mythology gets more complicated with each new show, but so far, Taylor Sheridan’s universe has proven extremely consistent. 1883 was a great limited series, and 1923set for a Two-season run, looks just as good. In it, Ford’s Jacob appears to be in a range war with Timothy Dalton’s big wig and hired guns, led by game of Thrones“Jerome Flynn. The trailer looks action packed, with the gun-wielding Ford still cutting a classic cowboy figure at eighty. Dalton looks like he’s having a blast munching on the scenery, but I have one concern based on the trailer that I’ll reveal after the break…

OK, still there? My theory is that Harrison Ford’s Jacob will die very early in the series – possibly even in the first episode. Sheridan has done this before, with Kyle Chandler’s character Mayor of Kingston. It feels like Ford will never really commit to an entire two-season run considering how busy it will be promoting it Indiana Jones 5 this spring/summer. He will also join the MCU as Thunderbolt Ross. I believe he will die and Mirren’s Cora will be the center of the show.
