The Golden Bachelor star skipped her daughter’s wedding to be on the show, and viewers have their say

It was another busy night The Golden Bachelor with ladies who go to great lengths to find love, such as faking an injury or getting an injury real Injury, actually telling someone to “zip it up,” and even missing a daughter’s wedding.
The evening included a one-on-one meeting between Gerry and Leslie on an ATV ride and a group meeting at a pickleball tournament with the rest of the women. The cast also received a visit from the original Bachelorette — who had some advice to offer — and new aspiring Bachelor Joey Graziadei, who was there to help people with their pickleball skills.
Here’s a rundown of the evening’s most exciting moments.
Rain check for the wedding day
The most eye-opening, or perhaps head-scratching, moment of the evening was Sandra and Gerry’s casual conversation about missing her daughter’s wedding that day.
“It’s something my daughter and I talked about early on. She said, “Mom, I have my husband.” “I want you to get yours,” the 75-year-old retired executive assistant explained.
Father-of-two Gerry said he was “flattered” that she chose him over such a “big event” and suggested he call Sandra’s daughter. After finally figuring out how to use FaceTime — “We’re too old for that,” she said — the couple was able to congratulate the bride and share a beautiful moment together.
“That was so sweet of him. He’s always full of sweet surprises and so thoughtful. This man is something else,” Sandra said of Gerry.
While Gerry and Sandra played down missing the event, viewers reacting on social media had concerns. Some said it was a bold move deserved a one-on-one conversationothers felt like her would be upset if it was her mother and some thought so showed a not so great side to Sandra.

#GoldenBachelor Will a man choose a woman who skipped her own daughter’s wedding because of a TV show? She shows him how quickly she drops him when something “important” happens.

I swear I’m trying not to judge, but why is Sandra missing her daughter’s wedding anniversary for this reason? second marriage? Is it an escape? Aren’t they very close? I have a plethora of questions #GoldenBachelor

In the end, Sandra received the group date rose from Gerry. But she was later seen eating ice cream, which she “shouldn’t have done” as she apparently suffers from lactose intolerance. By the time the cocktail party and rose ceremony were over, she was sick in bed.
Pickleball falls
Before Sandra announced the big wedding news, she and seven other women competed in a pickleball tournament, where 71-year-old Ellen and 70-year-old Kathy tore up the court and won the grand prize: a kiss each from Gerry .
During the tournament, April, 65, made a smooth move before falling to the floor, clearly injured, which resulted in Gerry rushing to her side – which was exactly what she wanted.
“Actually, I’m completely fine,” April said with a wink in a confessional interview.
We later learn that another person, 60-year-old Nancy, was injured playing pickleball with a stress fracture in her leg and was wearing a hiking boot. And then, after a candid conversation with Gerry, she voluntarily left the show in the middle of the cocktail party because she had no connection to the Golden Bachelor.
Drama before the rose ceremony
The tension and drama between Kathy and Theresa from last week spilled over into this week as Kathy took issue with Theresa sharing too much about her moments with Gerry. At one point, Kathy gave Theresa some “friendly advice,” which was: “Close it!”
So Theresa told Gerry about her seemingly never-ending feud with Kathy, and Gerry confronted Kathy, who claimed she was “not a villain.”
Rose ceremony drama
At the end of the night – and after Nancy had already said goodbye – two more people had to be sent away. What it came down to was April, the injury faker, and the feuding Kathy and Theresa fighting for the final rose, with the latter getting it.

A look ahead
With only six women left and hometown dates coming up in a few weeks, next week’s preview shows that several women are officially falling in love with Gerry, and he seems to be feeling the same way about several people. This of course leads him to some extremely emotional moments and the implication that he wants to leave the show or at least one of his interviews.
The Golden Bachelor airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
