MORE than 20,000 cash-strapped Americans are to receive a one-time direct payment worth $400.
Officials in New Mexico have said aid should arrive no later than the end of the month.
The payment was funded from a $10 million pot approved by state lawmakers earlier this year.

“These funds will help people in our communities who need the extra money to feed and house their families.”

Applications that have already been rejected will not be re-examined by the officials.
