Tim Tszyu vs Tony Harrison fight, start time, full fight card, results, watch, stream, updates

Jermell Charlo must not be in the other corner on Sunday afternoon.

But in Tony Harrison, Tim Tszyu faces off against a former world champion who is the only man to ever defeat the “undisputed” champion at Charlo.

And at the final press conference this week ahead of the blockbuster fight, Tszyu said “28 years of hard work” all came down to “this moment.”

It’s a big risk for Tszyu, who could have just taken an extra break to prepare for the eventual showdown with Charlo. But Tszyu has always preferred to stay active.

Instead, Tszyu will jeopardize his perfect 21-0 record – and his combined world championship dreams – with the winner taking home the interim WBO super welterweight title and fighting Charlo for all the belts.

As for Harrison, he’s excited for the chance to spoil Tszyu’s World Cup dream while proving his own doubters wrong.

“I know exactly how this fight is going to play out… he’s going to do one thing… but for me, the unexpected awaits,” Harrison warned earlier this week.

“I’m like the hammer, just like him. It’s going to be a great fight.”

Nikita Tszyu, who fights Bo Belbin earlier in the main card, said this was a “big resume” fight for his brother Tim.

“He gets that big name on his resume,” Nikita said.

“The world will finally recognize him as a first class fighter. There’s been a lot of talk about how easy it is for him, how easy it was for him (to the top)… he finally gets his chance on Sunday.”

While all eyes will be on Tim on Sunday, there are plenty of other Australian fighters also getting their chance, with Paulo Aokuso taking on Yunieski Gonzalez for the vacant IBO Intercontinental Light Heavyweight Title.

Gonzalez didn’t show up for this week’s press conference, but that only gave Aokuso the chance to have the last word ahead of Sunday’s fight.

l”I have the skills, I have the belief in myself to emerge victorious,” he said.

Sam Goodman, meanwhile, jeopardizes his unbeaten record against TJ Doheny in the biggest Test of his career.

Another rising star of the Australian boxing scene, Issac Hardman will also feature on the main card. He will fight Rohan Murdockvacant IBF Australasian super middleweight title.
