The Broncos have launched a bold bid to bring Titans star David Fifita home to Red Hill with money the Dolphins freed by poaching two of their stars.
The Titans and the Raiders were locked in a duel for Fifita’s services, with the Gold Coast favorites re-signing him.
The Courier Mail reported that the Broncos will seek to use the $1.5 million they earmarked for Dolphins defectors Herbie Farnworth and Tom Flegler to bring Fifita back to the club.

Fifita was slated to be the Broncos’ top signing of 2020, but the Titans pounced with a three-year, $1.25 million-a-season contract that usurped the $800,000 offer from Brisbane.
However, Fifita couldn’t live up to the hype of his first season on the Glitter Strip, in which he scored 17 tries in 22 games as the Gold Coast made it to the finals.
Fifita scored just seven tries in 18 games last season and was temporarily demoted to the bench as he struggled for consistency.
Fifita was advised to join the Raiders with his partner, who plays in NRLW, but the Titans were seen as front runners to keep him.

However, the Broncos’ 11-hour raid to reunite with their former star forward could be enough to bring him home to Red Hill in 2024 when his contract with the Titans expires in November of this year.
The Broncos were approached a month ago about their interest in Fifita, but they had little room to budge due to salary cap restrictions and their offer to re-sign Flegler and Farnworth.
However, the duo’s departure has opened the door for the Broncos to rain down on the Titans’ parade and steal Fifita away from under their noses in a 2020 Get Square.
Former Broncos skipper Corey Parker believes Fifita could reignite his career at his former club, which has a better backbone than the Titans, to help him fulfill his potential.
“David is certainly a player you would add to your roster, but at what cost?” Parker said.

“That’s the key. I actually feel for David on a personal level – he needs to go to a club that has an established and strong spine culture and experience.
“What does David Fifita want to be in his NRL career? That is the question for him.”
