An NYPD spokesman confirmed the incident to Yahoo Entertainment on Wednesday and said a suspected attack took place at the location as of 2 a.m. Wednesday. The trigger was a “verbal argument” between Scott and a 52-year-old that “escalated into a physical altercation”. The victim was reportedly “slapped in the face,” and the attacker “then damaged a speaker and video screen, causing approximately $12,000 in equipment damage.” The investigations are still ongoing.”

A source close to Scott adds, “Travis and his team [are] are already working with law enforcement to find a solution and find out the truth.” The person suggests the incident “has the hallmarks of a money robbery,” but promises it will “be solved and anyone with an agenda, be held accountable”.

Nebula’s managing partner, Richie Romero, also weighs in, telling Yahoo, “This is completely over the top. It was a great night.” And Dorian Harrington, the talent booker who hired Toliver and was on stage when the drama unfolded, says it was “a total misunderstanding… What I saw on stage doesn’t reflect it reflecting what I read on the news. The music and the night worked out great and everyone left peacefully.”

However, the sound engineer tells a different story. The man was interviewed from a hospital bed in New Jersey New York news station WYNW-TV on Wednesday evening. Identified only as “Mark” but described as one of the “most respected sound engineers in New York City,” he said Scott played the DJ music so loud that the audio was distorted. The alleged victim said he could not turn his head and was hospitalized. He told the outlet: “My throat is broken. My arm is tingling. I’ve got needles and needles going down him.”

According to the outlet, Mark also claimed that before Scott started dating him, the rapper shoved the DJ and took the phone of a clubgoer who took his picture and threw it across the room. Scott reportedly fled the West 41st St. Club in a car.

TMZ had Video by Scott exchanging words with the DJ and seemingly saying “back the f*** up”. Another video showed the apparently damaged sound system.

The “Sicko Mode” singer is longtime boyfriend of reality star and beauty mogul Kylie Jenner, with whom he shares two children, Stormi and Aire. However, they are reportedly on a hiatus.

Scott returned to the stage last year for the first time since the Astroworld Festival tragedy. During his headlining set at his festival in November 2021, 10 people died during a crowd. Scott, who said he was unaware people were being trampled, was the defendant in a number of court hearings related to the tragedy.
