Two deadlines this week to claim up to $300 in rebates – check out the exact dates and who’s eligible

THOUSANDS have less than a week to claim hundreds of dollars in tax refunds just before the holidays.
Residents of Delaware and Alabama have until November 30 and December 1, respectively, to claim discounts of up to $300.
The Delaware payment is a tax refund for most citizens, while the Alabama check is an incentive to buy a more efficient thermostat.
Here’s what you need to know to claim both discounts ahead of the rapidly approaching deadlines.
1. Delaware
Delaware began sending stimulus payments to all adults this summer.

An estimated 780,000 residents have already received the benefit, but the state says many are still eligible.
Applicants must have submitted both their 2020 and 2021 taxes on time.
You must also be over the age of 18, have a valid Delaware ID, and be a resident of the state no later than December 31, 2021.
The discounts are not automatic.
To qualify, you must submit your social security number and other necessary tax and residency information this portal.
You must act quickly as the portal will close after 11:59pm on November 30th.
2. Alabama
While the Delaware payment applies to all adults, the Alabama payment requires you to upgrade your home.
Utility company Alabama Power, which has 1.4 million customers in the state, is now offering a maximum $200 rebate to customers who buy new “smart” thermostats.
These thermostats can save time and energy by only cooling or heating a home when you need it, on a set schedule.
You can also control them with your smartphone.
The company has an application portal and an explainer website.
However, the deadline for purchasing the thermostat and filling out the application is only three days, so you need to act quickly.
Other Pending Payments
Many Californians are still waiting for up to $1,050 in inflation relief tax rebates.
Millions of residents have already received relief from the state’s Middle Class Tax Refund (MCTR) in the form of a direct deposit.
However, those who haven’t set up direct deposit will receive their payment as a debit card in the mail sometime between now and January 14th.
Meanwhile, South Carolina residents have an extended deadline of February 15 to file their 2021 taxes and be eligible for a refund of up to $800.
