Two people were taken to hospital after a collision in Belfast city center at Donegal Square West

Two people were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital following a road accident in Belfast city centre.

The incident occurred in the Donegall Square West area.

Images from the scene show a Translink bus at the scene of the accident and a tarpaulin has been put up.

A spokesman for the NI Ambulance Service (NIAS) said it received a 999 emergency call at 8.58am on Monday.

“NIAS dispatched an emergency response team, a paramedic and a doctor to the incident,” the NIAS said.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, two patients were taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital.”

The PSNI is currently on scene and said there could be delays for drivers in the area.

Translink has also been contacted for comment.
