Ukrainian soldiers eliminate mercenary Wagner in close combat – video

Illustrative video of trench warfare near Bakhmut, posted to Twitter on April 23 by 1+1 military correspondent Andriy Tsapliyenko, shows a soldier from the 92nd Brigade.

In two separate videos of the same skirmish, a Ukrainian soldier can be seen attacking a Russian mercenary crouching in a position cut into the trench wall. The body of another soldier (unclear if Ukrainian or Russian) slumped nearby.

After throwing a grenade at the Russian, which detonates some distance from the intruder’s position, a Ukrainian soldier closes in and hits the mercenary with shots from his assault rifle.

He retreats, and his companion advances to throw a grenade directly at the Russian’s position. It will explode, likely killing the mercenary if they weren’t already dead.
