Una Healy says: ‘What you read in the newspaper is different from my real life’

“That’s the reality – you’re on the front page of the newspaper and you say you’re in a relationship that you’re not in.”
In an exclusive interview with VIP Magazine, for which she’s the cover star for September, Una says she “don’t understand” how “every little date I have leads to this spectacular news.”
“This is the reality: you’re on the front page of the newspaper saying you’re in a relationship you’re not in.”
She added, “Everyone’s private life should be their private life,” though she said that while it “can be very frustrating,” it “is one of those things that comes with being known.”
The infamous “Throuple” photo
Una spoke to boxer David Haye and his girlfriend Sian Osborne following the now infamous Throuble, which she later claimed was “cheated”.
The Saturdays singer sparked rumors of a threesome when she was spotted multiple times with Sian and Haye after flying to Morocco for a New Year’s trip together.
But speaking on the My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast earlier this year, the mother-of-two told hosts Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally that she felt compelled to start the relationship.
However, she said the boxer made it clear that he was dating both her and Sian.
“He was very honest that I wasn’t the only woman he met, I was very aware that he met other people. I knew he was being honest and it wasn’t like I was being cheated.”
“I knew he wasn’t a husband, just a little fun and I enjoyed it.”
When asked if David had spread the idea that they were in a fight, Una admitted, “I think he was very happy about it, but I was pretty torn about it.
“He didn’t get it, he was always trying to teach me how not to get upset, but I’ve never had to hit the block button that many times. I had a list of words blocked on Instagram.”
However, Sian later took a dig at Una’s claims online after posting a series of pictures of the three along with the message: “Hoodwink: verb to deceive or trick someone”.
Pictured Una, David and Sian enjoying a visit to the theater before heading to London’s Winter Wonderland.
Sian wrote: “A liar weaves a tangled web and entangles himself in a maze of deceit.
“When we accept the truth, we conform to the harmonious order of the universe,” Sian wrote next to the date “May 29.” November 2022″.
Following is a previous cheeky dig at Una that Sian posted to Instagram, with snaps of the Saturdays star and her boyfriend David Haye captioned: “The truth will set you free”.
The 32-year-old also used Fleetwood Mac’s title, “Little Lies,” over a video montage of her and Una together.
Last month, Una revealed how she struggled with self-employment as a single mom before moving home to be close to her family.
The singer said she was “alone with the kids for months” in the middle of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
“I was struggling,” she told Hello!, “I didn’t have a support system around me, so my family was like, ‘You have to come home.'”
The family then moved back to County Tipperary, where their parents live next door, which was “100 per cent the right decision”.
She described her children Aoife, 11, and eight-year-old Tadhg as “like my little friends now”. And while she’s still her mom and always puts her first, “we do things that friends would do, like go out to dinner or watch a movie.” That’s the relationship I have with them. “
She also spoke about co-parenting with former England rugby player Ben Foden, who now lives in New York with his wife Jackie and their three-year-old daughter Farrah.
“I’m really happy for them that they’re spending summers in New York and making fond memories with their father, stepmother and sister,” she said. “Our dynamic is probably different from that of many people, but there are many people who have families where the parents are no longer together. You just do it as well as you can.”
The release of her latest single also marked the 15th anniversary since The Saturdays’ debut single If This Is Love topped the charts last month.
“We’re all in a group chat wishing each other a happy 15 years,” Una said of her bandmates Mollie King, Rochelle Humes, Frankie Bridge and Vanessa White on Saturday. “Imagine if we can actually say it’s been 15 years now.”
She said that while a reunion “isn’t on the horizon anytime soon,” she felt there would come a time “when we all feel like it’s the right thing to do.”
Discussing how she finds her own love life in the spotlight, she described it as “just one of the downsides of being in the public spotlight.”
“I would love to someday have a companion to share my life with,” she added. “But until I’m sure I’m with that person, I want to protect any relationship I have as best I can.”
The 41-year-old now seems to have found a new man in Irish comedian Stephen Mullan.
The Love Island Australia narrator performed at the Paddy Power comedy festival in Dublin and Una proudly shared an Instagram snap of her alleged boyfriend posing with fans.
This is Una’s first relationship since she suddenly ended her relationship with David Haye in February.
