Up to $800 worth of urgent direct winter rebate payment mailed to millions of Americans – check if you are eligible

MILLIONS of struggling Americans to receive up to $800 worth of direct payment.

Officials in South Carolina began paying the one-time aid payments last month.

Hartley Powell, South Carolina Department of Treasury Secretary, said, “I am pleased to report that all eligible rebates in the first group are complete and we have successfully issued more than 1.39 million rebates in time for Christmas.”

The exact amount you get back from your taxes depends on the tax liability you filed in 2021.

Americans have been asked to file their 2021 individual income tax returns by Oct. 17 to allow rebates to be processed.

They are expected to receive their payment by the end of the year.

But South Carolinaans who filed their tax returns after October 17 but before February 15 next year should receive their check by March.

Rebates will be issued via direct bank transfer unless residents have provided other banking information to officials.

The state also mails paper checks as well as direct deposits.

The US Sun has explained how South Carolina residents can calculate their rebate.

The relief, worth a total of $1 billion, was approved by state legislatures in June.

Officials have warned there could be several reasons why refunds could be delayed.

The Treasury Department’s processing system may be slow or there could be a problem with your tax return.

Or taxpayers may have to wait if they submitted false bank information to the state.

South Carolina isn’t the only state handing out aid payments to citizens.

Refunds ranging from $200 to $1,050 are currently being sent to millions of Californians.

More than 20 million Golden State residents are expected to benefit from the payment.

Massachusetts high earners receive $28,000 in tax refund program payments.

It comes from a huge pot of nearly $3 billion in state 2021 tax returns.

Jason Wright from the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center explained that this sum is practically the equivalent of purchasing a Rolex in Massachusetts for these residents.

He said, “We give millionaires the equivalent of a Rolex or more than a semester at UMass!”
