US teacher and TikTok star arrested in Thailand for allegedly having sex with teenage fan
An American teacher who did this over a million followers on TikTok is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old fan in Thailand, Thai police said.
Florida resident Luke Rockwell, 29, was arrested in Bangkok on Saturday. He is also accused transmission of sexually transmitted diseases to the girl, and he set his TikTok account @English_with_teacherluke to private after his arrest.
Although the age of consent in Thailand is 15, it is still against the law commit “indecent acts”. with someone between the ages of 15 and 18 outside of marriage. Royal Thai Police Lieutenant General Thitsit Sangsawan told the Daily Mail that Rockwell faces charges of unlawful sex with a minor and recording sexual acts.
Police Colonel Vajirakorn Wongboon told NBC News that Rockwell was teaching English in the Thai capital at the time of his arrest.

The girl’s mother told NBC News that her daughter met Rockwell in March, just after she was 16. The two reportedly had protected sex at first, but Rockwell reportedly gave up protection after convincing her he was clean.
When the girl began to feel pain and showed signs of an STD, she confessed the relationship to her mother. The hospital confirmed the infections to her family, and police soon obtained an arrest warrant for Rockwell.
Disturbingly, the victim’s mother told NBC that Rockwell secretly filmed the couple’s sexual encounters.

“I was so shocked and got a hard punch in the chest,” said the mother. “I was filled with sadness and anger when I found out what he did [the recordings] to my daughter.
“The police still couldn’t find him on Friday so they asked if my daughter could lure him to a meeting and we did so along with police presence while she was texting him,” she added. “And so he was arrested on Saturday.”
Rockwell appeared in court Monday and was released on bail. The amount of the bail is unknown.
