When will Elemental stream on Disney Plus?

Disney+ customers can start streaming Pixar’s animated adventure Elemental next week.

Elemental will be released worldwide on Disney+ on September 13, 89 days after the film’s theatrical release. In addition to the streaming premiere of Elemental, Disney+ will also premiere the making-of documentary Good Chemistry: The Story of Elemental and the Pixar Animation Studios short Carl’s Date, starring fan-favorite talking dog Dug introduced for the first time from “Up” from 2009.

At the box office, Elemental stumbled with the worst opening weekend in Pixar history – before bouncing back in the following theatrical run. According to Box Office Mojo, the film grossed $153.6 million domestically and $480 million worldwide in 11 weeks.

“Elemental” is set in Element City, where the denizens of fire, water, earth, and air live together. The feature film follows Ember (voiced by Leah Lewis) whose friendship with a funny and cheeky guy named Wade (Mamoudou Athie) challenges her views on the world they live in. Directed by Peter Sohn, produced by Denise Ream and executive produced by Pete Docter, Elemental is written by John Hoberg & Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh with a story by Sohn, Hoberg & Likkel and Hsueh.

In Good Chemistry: The Story of Elemental, director Sohn chronicles his parents’ journey from Korea to New York, explores his father’s former grocery store in the heart of the Bronx, and explores his decision to pursue a career in animation over choice join the family business.

In “Carl’s Date,” Carl Fredricksen (the older protagonist of “Up”) reluctantly agrees to a date with a girlfriend – but admittedly has no idea how dating works these days. His ever-helpful canine buddy Dug steps in to calm Carl’s pre-date jitters and give him some tried-and-true tips on how to make friends—at least if you’re a canine. The new short, which hit theaters before Elemental, was written and directed by Bob Peterson and produced by Kim Collins.

Disney+ launched a limited-time promotion on Wednesday, offering the ad-supported version of the streaming service for just $2 a month in the US for three months

From September 6th to September 20th, new and returning Disney+ customers in the US can subscribe to Disney+ Basic (with ads) for three months for $1.99/month (75% off the regular price of $7.99/month) . The promotion comes as the price of Disney+ Premium (ad-free) is expected to increase by 27% next month, from $10.99 to $13.99/month for US customers starting October 12.
